High passions and lowbrow talk
WARNING
This post will make no sense to anyone not browsing the bearblog Trending page in the last 48 hours.
I think I stumbled into it few weeks ago almost by mistake, and chalked it up on me being new and awkard in reading the room, but it turns out, I wasn’t that far off.
What am I even talking about?
The inside baseball of bearblog got me: I swear I don’t look for it, but when you guys so fervently upvote it into trending, it gets pushed to my rss too, and so I read.
And what a bland disappointing read it is, so crude, so obvious and so redundant.
So much rage, so much animosity and hostility on display and well, not much else really, is it?
I don’t need to link the posts, because if you have read them (and if you made this far past the warning, you have read them), you will know exactly who and what I’m referring to.
My ask
My ask is to you reader and voter of the bearblogs, and the ask is:
Rise above
Rise above these petty schoolyard dramas.
Rise above the rage-bait and incendiary tones.
Rise above it here, and out in the world.
And if you can’t rise above, if you need your pound of flesh and still bleeding too, then please, for the love of blogging, keep it out of the trending page, please?
Thank you.
