I’m trying Kagi News
I’m always on the lookout for good sources of news and information, a lot of the feeds I subscribe do fill that need, but I am missing a general news aggregation service, a normie POV?, that gives that feeling of opening the papers in the morning and see what’s the latest distraction coming our way.
I stumbled on Kagi News, yes it is from the same people that do Kagi search, and it’s a news aggregation service, fully embracing AI.
Once a day the topics they track get updated with meta-news, each has a summary formed from multiple sources, a timeline, quotes, some background and direct links to the source articles.
I don’t know how I feel about seeing the world trough an LLM summary, but I have other sources and I can make a judgement call any time.
Also, in a post-truth world, AI adding colour to a story seems the last of problems, the input is already highly colourful…
Anyway, they have an app and the website, they both seem to have the same functionality and you can subscribe to an RSS for each topic.
I’m interested to see which news makes the cut each day as much as what editorial line is taken with the summaries.
Oh, it’s free (for now).
