Trends of the Trending Bearblogs (TTB): writing motivation
I am still new to the Bearblog (the Bearblog what? Community? Family? Group? No idea) thing and with it the Trending page: I follow it, sometimes I like it, sometimes is meh, sometimes I roll my eyes… just like anything in life I guess.
One thing that comes with being new to something, is that you pick up clues and trends differently than people who have been exposed to it for a long time (yeah I just described culture-shock, I figured).
So in that spirit, I will keep a list of the Trends on the Trending Bearblogs page (TTB)1 to start drawing a map of the territory: I’m new to the neighbourhood, what are the topics discussed at the pub on the corner?
Let’s start from now, what topic is trending?
Writing motivation
Recently I see a lot of post about writing motivation, pressure of having a blog, pressure of having an audience, hardship of writing and stay motivated.
Few people shared their personal spirits of viral fame and the pressure that came with it, few others how they can’t keep the flames alive and are serial starters, most people end with the same recommendation:
Ignore the noise, just keep at it
Isn’t that what grit is?
Isn’t that what character is?
Isn’t that what discipline is?
Isn’t that what passion is?
Isn’t it cruel to tell someone that lacks all four at the moment, to kind of suck it up and get on with it?
Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes - and yet, that it the way most people that went through it see it - there might be some deeper lesson in there than just about writing a blog.
Will see in the future what other TTB makes itself known.
See ya next time.
A quick search for TTB brought back Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau and a religious org, I think it’s safe to appropriate↩
